I have the schedule of special services for Holy Week finalized. You may have noticed that I am doing live streaming of Morning Devotions and Night Prayer. We will do night prayer again tonight. Then on Wednesday night we will do a reading of the Passion Narrative from the Gospel of Matthew, This will be done with the extinguishing of candles into the darkness.
Thursday night will be a Celebration of Love. The reason for this choice is Jesus' commandment at the Last Supper that we love one another. We will explore love through various scripture passages, writings of theologians, poets ets. The service we are adapting was written by James Komar and Peter Coolen - friends of mine - a number of years ago for a special Valentine's celebration.
Morning Devotions will continue on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 9 am. Friday morning will be live at 9 am. It will be a version of our traditional Good Friday service.
There will be no more services after the morning of Good Friday until Easter Sunday. Owen and I will light the new fire and mark the Paschal candle. I will pre-record this and post it later on Sunday morning. Then at 9 am we will celebrate the Resurrection. This will be live streamed.
Basically - tune in at 9 day and night for the next few days (except Friday evening and Saturday).
I will post reminders of the live videos the evening or morning of the live streaming.
